Riding for a Reason / by Ed Shanahan

One of my passions in addition to photography is cycling and specifically using cycling as a vehicle to help fundraise to fight cancer.  This will be my 5th year riding in the largest athletic charity event in the world, the Pan Mass Challenge which cleared $45MM for cancer research and treatment last year.

The team I ride with, PHAT Tuesday, is Massachusetts based, but has 7 riders in the DC area.  We try to get together to train for this two day, 192 mile event which takes place the first weekend each August, as our schedules allow.  Today two of us, Mark Enstrom and I, got in our longest rides YTD 69 miles.  It was tiring but a blast.  To learn more, please go to www.pmc.org/es0193.
